FAW is the full workplace first aid certificate, covering the wider range of injuries and illnesses a first aider may meet in a higher-risk setting. Delivered over three days with continuous practical assessment and written papers.
Course Content
- All EFAW content — primary survey, unresponsive casualty, CPR/AED, choking, shock, bleeding and minor injuries
- Conducting a secondary survey
- Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains
- Head and spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning and harmful substances
- Anaphylaxis
- Major illness — heart attack, stroke, seizures, asthma and diabetic emergencies
- Record keeping and reporting

Entry Requirements
- Aged 14 or over on the first day of training
