Challenge

Ice Scape required reliable and consistent medical cover throughout its 2025 ice rink operation. With the service running across an extended period, the priority was to provide a dependable clinical presence capable of assessing and treating patients on site, while ensuring appropriate escalation and onward referral when required.

Approach

Risk Medical Rescue provided dedicated event medical cover across 58 consecutive days, with experienced clinicians delivering on-site assessment and treatment throughout the operation. The team managed patient presentations within the event environment, made appropriate referrals to other healthcare services and coordinated emergency ambulance support where clinically required. The service focused on patient safety, effective clinical decision-making and seamless integration with the wider event operation.

Outcome

Across the contract, RMR assessed and managed 217 patients, providing treatment on site wherever appropriate and facilitating onward referral when further care was required. Only one ambulance was requested during the entire contract, while the full 58-day medical provision was delivered with zero dropped days, providing Ice Scape with consistent and reliable clinical support throughout the operation.

Challenge

G4S Patient Transport Services required reliable, experienced clinical trainers to provide relief training capacity across a demanding programme of mandatory and clinical education. The requirement was to maintain continuity of training delivery while supporting large volumes of learners across multiple courses, ensuring every session was delivered to a consistently high standard without disruption to operational requirements.

Approach

Risk Medical Rescue provided experienced relief trainers to support G4S Patient Transport Services across a comprehensive programme of clinical and mandatory training. Our trainers integrated seamlessly into the existing training team, adopting and applying G4S’s established SOPs, processes and ways of working to ensure consistency across all training delivery. The focus was on high-quality delivery, learner engagement and maintaining uninterrupted training continuity throughout the programme.

Outcome

The programme was delivered with zero dropped training days and a 100% learner success rate. Learners consistently provided outstanding feedback, reflecting the quality of instruction, clinical knowledge and professionalism of the RMR training team. The successful partnership provided G4S with additional training capacity and confidence that its workforce could continue to receive high-quality, clinically relevant education without disruption.

Challenge

A production company required embedded medical support for a six-week shoot at a remote Highland location, far from definitive care, with variable weather and terrain.

Approach

RMR deployed an operational paramedic for the duration of the shoot, with remote clinical governance, a stocked treatment area, and pre-agreed HEMS and evacuation pathways.

Outcome

Three minor injuries and one significant casualty managed on site, with a single HEMS activation for definitive care. No production days lost to medical incidents.

Challenge

A county council events team required an independent review of their event medical documentation and processes ahead of the summer events season.

Approach

RMR conducted a full audit of existing documentation, risk assessments and provider arrangements, benchmarking against the Purple Guide and current best practice.

Outcome

Updated medical plan templates, a revised risk assessment matrix, and 17 prioritised recommendations delivered. The updated plan received Safety Advisory Group approval.
