Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions
Do I legally need a medical provider at my event?
For most public events, the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and your event licence place a duty on organisers to provide adequate medical and first aid cover. The level required is determined by a medical risk assessment — we can carry this out for you.
What guidance governs event medical provision?
The primary reference is HSG195 (The Event Safety Guide) alongside The Purple Guide to Health, Safety and Welfare at Music and Other Events. Local licensing authorities and Safety Advisory Groups may set additional requirements.
What is a medical plan and do I need one?
A medical plan documents the level of medical provision for your event — staffing, equipment, treatment facilities, communications, and escalation procedures. Most licensed events and Safety Advisory Groups require one, and we prepare it as part of our service.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend contacting us as early as possible — ideally several weeks before your event — so the medical plan can be agreed with your Safety Advisory Group. We can accommodate shorter timescales where capacity allows.
Do you cover events outside of Kent?
Yes — we cover events across the UK. While our base is in Westgate-on-Sea, Kent, we regularly deploy nationwide for festivals, motorsport, and mass-participation events.
